Assistant Professor Dr. Cansu Korkmaz graduated from the Faculty of Law at Selçuk University in 2011. In 2012 Korkmaz took up a post as a research assistant in the Department of Civil Procedure and Enforcement-Bankruptcy Law at the Faculty of Law, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Korkmaz completed a master’s degree in 2015 with a thesis entitled “Appellate Remedies in Labour Proceedings” and a doctorate in 2022 with a thesis entitled “Attachment and Sale of Industrial Property Rights”, both at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Supported by TÜBİTAK fellowships, Korkmaz carried out doctoral and postdoctoral research at the Faculty of Law of Trier University and also taught courses on Turkish law there. Since 2023 Korkmaz has served as an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Procedure and Enforcement-Bankruptcy Law at the Faculty of Law, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, and also directs the university’s International Arbitration Research and Application Centre. Korkmaz also delivers training courses on specialist mediation and for concordat commissioners.
